Why Choose a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist?

www.SBtheRD.com

Are you looking for a nutrition professional? Consider finding a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist!

If you see RD (registered dietitian) or RDN (registered dietitian nutritionist) after your nutritionist’s name then you know you’re in good hands.

Dietitians don’t just study for a few months, or even a year or two, and then start telling you how to eat. It’s a bit more intense than that.

First, they must have an extensive undergrad college education including many pre-med and science courses that help them understand the human body.

Then, they continue with another 1-3 years of post-graduate education, and an 8-24 month (1200 hours) supervised internship.

Once they complete all that, they can sit for the Registered Dietitian Nutritionist exam, and if they pass, they become licensed as an RD or RDN.

Additionally, RD’s and RDN’s are medical professionals bound by HIPPA and every year must complete approved continuing education to keep themselves current.

If your nutrition professional has the RD or RDN designation after their name, you can feel secure knowing they’re qualified to help you with your nutrition needs!
